Michael L. Petty, PLA, ASLA
Mike Petty is currently a Senior Associate at Reich Associates in Baton Rouge. A native of Tennessee, Mike worked in design-build, for BWSC, a large multi-disciplinary office, as well as in the public sector prior to joining Reich Associates in 2015. He is a licensed landscape architect in three states.Mike has an undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design and a MLA from Louisiana State University. While at LSU, with help from a pair of colleagues, he resurrected the, then defunct, student ASLA chapter and, served as student chapter president for one year.
Mike has been an active member of LCASLA serving on the Executive Committee as the Baton Rouge Representative and is currently serving as Chapter Secretary. In addition to serving on the Executive Committee, he is also a member of the legacy project committee, has chaired the professional awards jury for two years, and has served as the sponsorship chair, the latter resulting in two record years for sponsorship donations. In addition to service to the Louisiana Chapter, Mike also serves on several national ASLA committees, including the LARE Prep Subcommittee, where recently he conducted a national webinar, with fellow LCASLA member Haley Blakeman, on test taking strategies.
For the last five semesters, Mike has served his alma mater as an adjunct faculty member, teaching both courses within the undergraduate and graduate programs. Along with teaching, he is a member of the school's professional advisory board. Mike lives in historic Beauregard Town with his wife, Nicole, and his daughter, Sarah-Lynn.
